Salmon rents & supports a complete range of Caterpillar & other heavy machinery used in the mining & construction sectors, providing high quality plant for short & long-term hire throughout Australia. We are currently seeking skilled and qualified Field Service Diesel Fitters to join our team to support our projects in Central Queensland. Key Responsibilities: Conduct regular maintenance on diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems of heavy equipment Diagnose faults and troubleshoot mechanical issues in a timely manner Repair and replace faulty parts as necessary Perform scheduled servicing of equipment to prevent unexpected downtime Inspect, test, and adjust equipment for optimal performance Document all maintenance and repairs accurately Collaborate with the maintenance team to prioritise tasks and maintain workflow efficiency Adhere to safety protocols and ensuring all work is carried out in compliance with industry regulations Participate in training sessions to stay updated on new technologies and techniques in diesel engine maintenance The successful candidate will have the following: Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology or Engineering (Mechanical) or equivalent. Experience on CAT diagnostic systems or similar. A “can do” attitude with the ability to work well in a team environment. Ability to carry out performance testing and adjustments after repairs. A strong commitment to WH&S policies and procedures. Excellent time management skills and a strong commitment to quality control. Ability to work autonomously and unsupervised as required. Valid manual driver license. The successful candidate will be required to pass a pre-employment medical assessment and drug & alcohol screening.
